Also John 9 is an excellent example of disputing your claim that one had to sin or their parents had to sin in order for someone to have an illness. The Disciples asked Jesus who sinned the blind man from birth or his parents. Jesus replied neither, and for them not to try to find someone to blame, but to look at is as an opportunity to for to show his greatness.

I attend an interdenominational church, which has a word of faith belief. Although we believe in faith healing we also believe in following Drs’ orders. In essence we believe just as singing and writing are gifts, God manifest his gift of healing through Drs as well. We thank God for the Dr, because he can give the diagnosis, but God is the ultimate healer. Pple die even though they have followed the Doctors instructions, but we still should follow them; and when it’s your time, it’s your time.

you can’t blame the authors of the bible too much for blaming disease on sin and whatnot because itsnot like there was any medical treatment alternative of which to speak… And the placebo effect was probably strong enough to actually work better than most of the other cures they could have devised with the given technology they had. I know its a different story today though…

So true. If Christians REALLY believed their Bibles, they’d ALL be praying to god for healing and we’d have millions of children dying from common ailments.

I rather appreciate the Christian who actually follows and acts on their beliefs. Which is not to say the death is tragic.
