Poem I wrote — A Covenant Made In Heaven — Thoughts? ***I wrote this about five months ago***
A scene so pretty like a picture
So calm and still, so good to us
Holds our hearts close to its warmth
In its breath streams a sense of peacefulness
Awash with many colours bold and beautiful
Many hues and tints and shades
Brightness and darkness collide and blend
Breaking into chorus, melodious strains
Echoing in our souls as our hearts unite
Crashing into each other
Hark, the thunder of our joyfulness roars
Live this great noise out loud for all to hear
This joy, which comes from good and wholesomeness
Up in the sky, a star so brilliant and exalting
Shines ’round your head like a halo
Twinkling like the night stars in your eyes
Displaying the very essence of our covenant
Covenant as man and woman with God
Upon the page in our book of time
And written in the book of life
It says quote "To have and to hold, from this day forward
For better for worse, for richer for poorer
In sickness and in health, to love and to cherish
Till death us do part."
Wait a moment, no…it shouldn’t read
"…Till death do us part."
It should read…
"…Forever, as one we shall not part."
For true love doesn’t die with the body
Eventually, our spirits are taken up
In a blast of the heavenly trumpets and set down upon holy ground
Before the throne of God Himself
No, never shall we part in death of body
Because the soul of love which breathes
The air of heaven’s consciousness
Lives on and on forever
Deep inside the mortal between us
Who still breathes the air of consciousness on Earth
Keep these words close to you, my blossoming lily
So the ties that bind our spirits to one another
Never break beneath the weight of the world
Savour every drop of the waters of life
That fall upon your moistened lips
Yes, even now as if you bleed the very juices of my words
Your cheeks blush a flaming red
Your pupils widen to take in this light
And in doing so, they see more of my face
Which wrinkles into a smile, oh woe is me
Flame so do my cheeks with a fiery passion
A torch burns inside my mouth
The one you ignite in a passionate kiss
A meeting of my lips and yours
Touch my hand with a fingertip so soft
And you shall feel a sting of flame
It is hotter than the sun
For which my heart burns for you
And so it shall for days and days of infinity
As the lilies grow in the fields
As the morning star continues to shine
As the Lord gives me mortal breath and drumming heart
As the trees stand tall to shade us from the world
As the mountains proclaim His majestic glory
I can see this glory, so powerfully strong
Shining in your eyes
I can hear His melodious chorus so vibrant and joyful
In your voice, through every word
Every light beam and every word
Every touch, God’s love and compassion surge through me
Because He has blessed me with the beauty
The beauty in you
Now, we stand beneath the great stage of heaven
We have captured a small significant beam of moonlight
Take my hand in yours
Let us walk into this new life together as one living breathing spirit
Under God’s watchful eye

It is very hard to find a publisher who is willing to accept anything no matter how good from a person that hasn’t joined some sort of "Poetry Firm". Some sort of group that is made of both ameteurs and professionals in the field of writing, I believe it is. I’m really going to try though and have some of my works published.
