A video for those who consider the Bible to contain a literal account of how Creation occured some 6-10 thousand years ago. Chapter 1 and 2 contradict each other and neither makes any sense in context to our modern understanding of how the universe works. Even the things that a child today should know, that the sky isn’t a dome or that the earth revolves around the sun, were apparently unknown to the authors of the Bible.

Here’s the first installment in my “explaining Christianity” series. What is The Holy Spirit? It’s the part of the Christian triune god that’s within all saved Christians. So Christians, you better feel it because you’ve got a little piece of God riding around inside of you. Otherwise, it might be a sign that (*gasp*) your faith isn’t strong enough.

Search the Bible in vain for the words “inalienable rights”. The Bible endorses the divine right of kings and admonishes obedience from peasants and slaves. America’s founders were inspired more by the god of deism.

Matthew, or whoever wrote that book, is a liar.

That’s all that need be said. His so called “prophecies” are either nothing of the sort or were misquotes of OT scripture. Whoever wrote Matthew either knew or should have known better!

Mark and Luke are not eye-witnesses and John’s advanced theology and inconsistencies with the synoptic Gospels mean that the entire Jesus story is without one credible eye-witness account.

The OT god, Yahweh, forbids us to have an intercessor
The NT god, Jesus, requires us to have an intercessor
Hence, the Trinity, which tries to reconcile the two.
In reality, Christianity is the child of Judaism and Paganism, not the pure outgrowth of Judaism that Christians like to imagine that it is.

I arrive at my doubts about the Jesus story differently than Acharya and others. This is not to say that they’re wrong but I don’t know enough about pagan myths to say for certain one way or the other. My skepticism is based on how inconsistent the Christian story is, both internally and with history. The Christians have never built a case that Jesus exists in the first place.
